Spice Girls Reunite To Hype Upcoming West End Musical
The Spice Girls might not do a ton of work together these days, but when they’re sharing the same room, the chemistry still feels right. That’s what observers noticed this morning when Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham hit up the St. Pancras Hotel in London in order to do a little promotional work for the upcoming musical based on their songs.
The production, entitled Viva Forever!, is scheduled to open on the West End thanks to producer Judy Craymer and writer Jennifer Saunders. Opening night will be December 11th at the famed Piccadilly Theater, and all indications are the show will be a rousing success.
According to E! Online, the girls got along smashingly well during the ceremony, though that doesn’t necessarily mean we should be expecting another world tour in the coming years. Still, regardless of what happens with the girls themselves, it seems clear a new generation will be introduced to Girl Power and all the fabulous songs the movement brought with it.
The specifics of the plot are being kept a bit under wraps, but cursory outlines indicate it will be about friendship, female empowerment and, of course, music. I'll high kick to that!
