Today Host Jenna Wolfe Says She's Not Ready To Be A Mommy

Babies are always tough to deal with, but the first time around is usually the worst. There’s an entire series of Luvs diaper commercials devoted to just this concept. Today host Jenna Wolfe is about to be a first time parent, and a set of games on the weekend edition of the show has her proving she doesn’t have the expertise some of the other news anchor parents already have.

On Saturday Wolfe, along with Erica Hill and Lester Holt, worked through a round of the game “Know Your Baby” in which Wolfe did not do so well. She later joked she’s “not ready” to rear a child, but her co-workers defended her. She has seemed unsure of the whole baby-rearing thing ever since she announced she was pregnant and will be documenting her hopes and fears in her blog.

“I've never changed a diaper. I don't know how to decorate a nursery. I don't really understand what a breast pump is. And don't get me started on the feeding schedule.”

Still, we have to give her credit and she should give herself some credit. Wolfe only announced she will be having a baby with her longtime partner, NBC journalist Stephanie Gosk, on Wednesday. She's only five months pregnant, which means she has months and months to read all of the necessary literature and interview all of her friends who have kids. Then, she’ll have months and months with the kid in which to learn, which should be a pretty steep learning curve. Plus, if Kourtney Kardashian can manage to be a decent parent while dealing with her formerly alcoholic baby daddy, two highly educated NBC news people should do a damn fine job.
