Watch Betty White Spoof Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball Video
It's supposed to be a promotion Betty White's Off Their Rockers, White's prank comedy show, which was recently rescued by Lifetime after being cancelled over at NBC. But let's face it, this promo is a bit of pop culture greatness all by itself. Following in the footsteps of Miley Cyrus -- except a bit less naked -- Betty White has mounted a wrecking ball for our entertainment. And she's also not averse to getting personal with a sledgehammer or sporting her own foam finger. Hey, whatever gets the job done. And by job, I mean promoting her TV show, of course. Betty White's Off Their Rockers is expected to debut its third season over at Lifetime sometime next year (2014).
Unless you've somehow managed to avoid Cyrus' attention-demanding music video for her single "Wrecking Ball," you're probably well aware that it involves her swinging naked on a piece of demolition equipment and at one point, licking a sledgehammer…
Like it or not, seems like a safe bet that the video will go down in history as one of 2013's biggest pop culture events, along with Miley's performance at the Video Music Awards. So White's parody is certainly timely. Of course, she isn't the first person to parody the video. You can find a number of spoofs on YouTube, including this one:
That one takes some strange turns. Points to that singer for all of the things she licked to make that video. And even more points for ending it with the final notes of the Full House theme song. I don't know why.
