Watch Billie Joe Armstrong Go Off After Having Time Slot Shortened
Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong has been around the block quite a few times, but that veteran experience doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a little fight left in him. The forty-year-old and his bandmates were playing the iHeartRadio Music Festival yesterday when the group’s performance was reportedly shortened to give Usher and Rihanna extra time. After seeing the one minute left sign during the middle of “Basket Case”, Armstrong exploded in a profanity-laden rant that took a left hand turn for some reason and referenced Justin Bieber. You can take a look at the blow-up below…
Warning: As I said before, it's profanity-laden...
It’s unclear whether Armstrong was more angry about having his set shortened or more angry about having his set shortened for Usher and Rihanna, but either way, he made sure everyone in the building knew about his frustration. To some fans, that willingness to sound off will likely seem deserved and kind of badass. To others, it’ll probably come off as pointless and angsty. Regardless, I highly doubt Billie Joe cares. As he pointed out in this rant, he’s been doing this since 198-fucking-8.
