Watch This Concerned Sea Lion Stop Playing After A Little Girl Falls
Most zoos boast a wide variety of animals, some of which are interested in interacting with human beings and some of which barely even seem to notice all the gawking patrons. On the list of animals pumped about making a connection with visitors, sea lions are right up there with seals and dolphins near the top of the pack, and this video is a great indication of that.
Shot by YouTube user Ariel Myren, the clip features a little girl with a stuffed animal playing with a sea lion. The pair run/ swim back-and-forth on the edge of the glass until the poor girl suddenly trips, creating a sea of concerned individuals starting with all the mothers present and ending with the sea lion playmate. It’s as if everyone in the room, no matter what species, is all on the same empathetic page.
On the whole, sea lions are incredibly adorable creatures. Every now and again, they put the fear of God in unsuspecting people by springing into attack mode. Maybe I’m a weirdo, but to me, that almost makes them seem even more endearing.
Considering no one involved with the video said anything about this little girl going to the hospital, I think it’s safe to assume she bounced right back up. As for the sea lion, I think I speak for everyone when I say I hope he’s over his emotional pain.
