Watch This Hilarious Blind Guy Ask Sighted People Questions
Every single week, loveable blind guy Tommy Edison takes to YouTube to answer questions as mind-blowingly interesting as how he imagines colors and as goofy and loveable as how he draws. For his newest video, however, he decided to shake things up and ask sighted people a laundry list of questions he’s always wondered about. Not surprisingly, many of them are both insightful and hysterical.
For example: why would you wear shoes that are uncomfortable just because they look nicer? How could you lose your car when you can see the entire parking lot? What is it like to be able to get around in the snow? Are you overwhelmed when you walk into a room and see so many things everywhere? How do you remember what people look like?
The great thing about watching a video like this is it really reminds you how fundamentally impossible it is to understand what certain people are going through. We can spend as much time as we want working on empathizing and rationalizing, but it’s still impossible to walk in someone else’s shoes. That’s why it’s important to just accept people’s differences, be as nice as possible and try to find common ground we can all understand—like great noises or overpriced hot dogs.
