This week on Operation Kino, we're bringing in our first-ever guest! Because neither Dave or nor Katey managed to see Bridesmaids we marshaled Perri Nemiroff, who writes for Cinema Blend and all kinds of other places, to join Patches and Dave for the review. First, though, we've got our lightning round in honor of Priest and post-apocalyptic worlds, plus tidbits that venture off into books and to the south of France. After the review we delve into the entire nature of modern movie comedies, why they don't generally compare to TV comedy and what it would take for any movie comedy to make it on our best of the year lists (spoiler: Bridesmaids probably won't make the cut). At the end, once again, we have dessert with your own picks for your favorite post-apocalypse movie. And listen closely for yet another contest, this one a result of Dave cleaning out his apartment.
To win Dave's Moulin Rouge DVD and poster, head over to the Kino Katey Facebook page and comment on this post with what Dave asked you guys to write. Good luck!
As for the rest of the show, take listen below and find all your downloading options; for more from all of us, you can follow Dave (@da7e), David (@davidehrlich or @CriterionCorner), Matt (@misterpatches) and me (@kateyrich) on Twitter.
