The Beastie Boys have been around since the 80’s and while some wonder why they’re still around it’s undeniable they have a huge international fan base. So, in the end of 2004 they had the idea to film a concert in New York City and release it on DVD. The catch is that fans would be the camera men/women. They did this by giving out 50 Hi-8 handheld video cameras to fans with seats spread throughout the stadium. The eager would-be-filmmakers were told to record everything they saw, have fun, and enjoy the show. The idea here is to show the love and passion for the Boys during the concert through the eyes of fans (like Bon Jovi’s Bad Medicine video from ’89). The outcome is the disc Awesome; I … Shot That!. At least their intentions were good.
