Dancing With The Stars Winner Nyle DiMarco Just Landed A Brand New Gig
Nyle DiMarco stole the show week in and week out during Season 22 of ABC's Dancing with the Stars. His initial claim to fame came from his victory in the final season of America's Next Top Model, and he then overcame a major obstacle to win hearts and take home the top prize of Dancing with the Stars. DiMarco was born deaf and seemed like an unlikely candidate to excel as a dancer, but he wowed critics and audiences alike with his performances. Now, it looks like he won't be giving up the rhythm anytime soon, as Nyle DiMarco will return to the world of dance as the next headliner for Chippendales.
Nyle DiMarco will tackle the job of celebrity guest host of the Chippendales show in Las Vegas this fall, according to People. The engagement with Chippendales is set to last for four weeks. DiMarco's tenure on Dancing with the Stars proves that he has the necessary abilities to headline the legendary act. He's a fantastic dancer, and he doesn't seem to have a problem showing skin in the name of performance. There's certainly no such thing as a modest Chippendale dancer.
I'm curious as to how exactly Nyle DiMarco will go about mastering the steps for the Chippendale dances. His methods that he used for Dancing with the Stars likely wouldn't work as well on the Vegas stage. DiMarco worked out a system of cues with his Stars partner Peta Murgatroyd that involved visual signs and hand squeezes. A pair of dancers playing off of one another for a few minutes of a set is very different from an ensemble of hunky dancers on one big stage. Not a lot of hand squeezes there.
Folks in Vegas won't have to wait too much longer to see how Nyle DiMarco fares as celebrity guest host. He'll make his Chippendale debut on September 22 and stick around until October 16. Attendance may well go up for his tenure as a somewhat-in-the-buff headliner; it isn't every day even a show as renowned as Chippendales gets a famous face. Other celebrities have hosted the show in the past, but DiMarco's recent Stars win means that he'll be in killer shape to strut his stuff and strip his shirt as a Chippendale. For a refresher on just what DiMarco can do on stage, check out his Dancing with the Stars freestyle with Peta Murgatroyd:
Unfortunately, not all of us will be able to head to Vegas and catch Nyle DiMarco as a Chippendale. Hopefully Season 23 of Dancing with the Stars will help compensate for the lack of DiMarco. We shouldn't count on ABC finding another star with the skills and stage presence to match the Season 22 winner, but there should still be plenty of talent on stage. Tune in to ABC on Monday, September 12 at 8 p.m. ET to catch the Season 23 premiere of Dancing with the Stars, and be sure to check out our fall TV premiere schedule to see what else you'll be able to watch in the near future.
