Which Defenders Character Daredevil's Charlie Cox Is Most Excited To Work With
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is truly a non-stop machine. In addition to the huge slate of movies coming up for the remainder of Phase Three, there are also quite a few TV projects being worked on. Perhaps the most exciting of these is Netflix's Marvel Universe. In addition to Daredevil and Jessica Jones, we will soon be introduced to Luke Cage and Iron Fist before they all team up to save the day in the Defenders miniseries. But which heroes are the stars most excited to interact with?
Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the MCU, recently appeared at Toronto Fan Expo, where he participated in a Q&A Panel. When asked who he was excited to team up with in The Defenders, one Youtuber recorded him saying the following:
Sounds good to me. It looks like Charlie Cox is ready to explore Matt Murdock's relationship with Danny Rand aka Iron Fist. Now it's time to speculate as to what this will entail.
Daredevil and Iron Fist will presumably have a fair amount in common when they meet in The Defenders. To start, they have their martial arts training. While Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are brawlers who simply use their super strength to overpower their foes, Iron Fist and Daredevil use their martial arts training to engage in fast and furious battles. Sure, Iron Fist has powers of his own, but they're still very similar in regards to fighting style. If the two characters are originally not keen of each other then it's possible we'll see them come to blows in what would be one of the most epic fight scenes in MCU history.
Then again, I'm also eager to see how Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones interact. The two are such different characters, but they do have one trait in common: self-destruction. Jessica has been shown to shoot herself in the foot when it comes to her substance abuse problems, while Matt's addiction seems to be crime fighting itself. Daredevil is constantly getting himself in over his head, and he doesn't have super powers to protect him. But most of all, both heroes' unwillingness to ask for help is crippling. The Defenders will presumably address this, as the quartet of super powered characters must depend on each other to survive their adventure.
Of course, we'll just have to wait until The Defenders is finally released. We have a while though, as Luke Cage and Iron Fist are coming first. Luke Cage is coming up soon, and will be released in its entirety on September 30th, 2016.
