Even Stephen Amell Gets Nervous About Shooting Crossovers
We know that The CW is planning an inordinate amount of crossovers this year. While the cast of The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow--and even Supergirl--have all spent time with each other over the past couple of years, that doesn't mean they are all super comfortable with one another. In fact, recently Stephen Amell revealed he was a little in awe of shooting a crossover scene with Legends of Tomorrow actor Victor Garber. Here's what he had to say.
We kind of get his point. Victor Garber has the kind of resume that a lot of other actors aspire to. He's a veteran in the business and has been in major film and TV franchises. On the big screen, you may have seen him in Titanic, Argo, The Music Man and Tuck Everlasting. On TV, he's probably best known for starring as Jack Bristow in Alias, but he's appeared in numerous other TV projects, including guest stints on Nurse Jackie, Glee and more. Stephen Amell is certainly the focal point of Arrow, but he hardly has the same resume as Garber does.
While the crossovers give the actors the opportunity to work with different people from different shows, that's still a big change for the actors. Not only do they have to finagle schedules in order to appear on multiple shows, they also have to figure out how to work with actors they may or may not have ever worked with before. This scheduling can be absolutely bonkers, as Amell also recently revealed...
This change can lead to plenty of creativity on the multiple DC comics shows airing on the CW. It also can freshen things up and give fans of one series a reason to check out one of the other shows on the network. In Amell's case, it meant he gotten to work with the great Victor Garber, who started his DC career on The Flash before heading to Legends of Tomorrow full time.
Alls well that ends in fun photo opportunities, however. At the end of the long day of shooting with Garber and other members of the CW's superhero shows, he also shared this fun image from the set.
It's kind-of amazing that the CW shows are already getting to the point where they are shooting Episodes 7, 8 and 9, but luckily we are finally getting to see the new seasons this week. Arrow, in fact, will premiere its fifth season on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET. Here's what we know about the upcoming episodes.
