The fall TV schedule is currently in full effect, with everyone's favorite cable and network shows finally returning after the long summer hiatus. One of the most exciting days of the week for TV is Thursdays, including ABC's Shonda Rhimes block which currently includes Grey's Anatomy and How to Get Away With Murder (Scandal is noticeably absent for the fall). Grey's Anatomy's 13th season is in a bit of a transition period, with the Sara Ramirez's Callie Torres suddenly no longer apart of the cast, and a few other doctors receiving raises and becoming series regulars. But how is Arizona's story going to change now that her primary scene partner is no longer appearing on the medical drama?
Jessica Capshaw has played Arizona Robbins since back in Season 5, and now finds herself without a love interest in the series. When speaking to TV Line about her role in Season 13, she revealed that a new potential partner is just around the corner for Arizona
I think it's got to be a new person, right? What am I going to do, start making out with Ellen [Pompeo]?

It certainly makes sense that Arizona would need to meet a new character that she can connnect with romantically. Then again, Arizona did have an affair or two during her long relationship with Callie, so one of those characters returning isn't exactly a crazy concept. While she and Callie where on a break, Arizona started hooking up with Leah the intern, who has since been fired from the hospital. But just because Leah isn't a surgeon anymore doesn't necessarily mean she left Seattle. Arizona also cheated on Callie with a surgeon named Lauren (played by One Tree Hill alum Hilarie Burton) a few seasons ago, so she could have come back.
But alas, we will be introduced to a new character for Arizona to connect with. But when exactly will it happen? According to Jessica Capshaw, we won't have to wait too long.
My sources are telling me that it's not going to be too far away. We had to wade through a little muck first. But I do feel that Arizona has certainly waited long enough.
Looks like Arizona is going to get her groove back real soon.
While Arizona's various affairs have made her a fairly unlikeable character, it has been a while since she truly had a companion. Callie moved on with Perfect Penny to New York, but Arizona hasn't had much of a love life since the couple split. Plus her closest friends are April and Alex, who each have a ton on their plate currently. With Alex possibly going to jail and April struggling with her recovery and being a new parent, Arizona is going to need a new character to make her story relevant to the overall season.
Grey's Anatomy airs Thursday nights on ABC.
