The Punisher Could Beat This Fan Favorite DC Hero In A Fight, According To Jon Bernthal
Arguably no two superheroes are more diametrically opposed than Batman and The Punisher. Aside from their mutual affinities for black clothing, Frank Castle and Bruce Wayne couldn't be more different in their beliefs about fighting crime. The Punisher will kill bad guys without a moments hesitation, and Bruce Wayne will never, under any circumstance do so. That's what makes the idea of a hypothetical battle between them so interesting, and now it seems that Jon Bernthal thinks that The Punisher would easily win a fight between these two anti-heroes.
During a recent Q&A session at New York Comic-Con (via Screen Geek) Jon Bernthal was asked who he thought would win a fight between his version of The Punisher and Batman. Without hesitation the actor responded by saying that he believed The Punisher would win. The question clearly resonated with the entire audience, because as soon as Jon Bernthal provided his answer, the room erupted in a roar of cheers and screams. Never underestimate the enthusiasm of passionate fans.

A live-action battle between these two characters would truly be one of the most fascinating duels in the history of comic book heroes. Both The Punisher and Batman are highly trained, yet mortal men who have dedicated their lives to their respective missions. On one hand, Batman has far more resources than The Punisher could ever hope to acquire. On the other hand, The Punisher is willing to put criminals down permanently, and that ruthlessness may have him a distinct tactical advantage over The Dark Knight.
However, this is one of those "vs." debates that will likely never receive a definitive answer. Given Marvel and DC's bitter rivalry, it seems incredibly unlikely that Jon Bernthal and Ben Affleck will go head to head in the near future -- although they will face off in The Accountant, which premieres this weekend. Maybe one day Marvel and DC will make amends and allow this crossover to happen, but for now it seems unlikely.
