Why Corey Feldman Dropped The Flag During His Today Performance
Corey Feldman has been busy attempting to revitalize his career through some high-profile singing performances. One of them just happened on Today this past week. While the performance itself is exactly what we've come to expect from Corey Feldman's musical career, he had one awkward moment that did not resonate with the fans watching him sing his track "Take a Stand." At one point he abruptly dropped an American flag, causing some fans to voice their displeasure. Now, Corey Feldman himself is speaking out about what happened during that fateful moment. Here's what he had to say:
The performance was made even more awkward at the end. NBC's Tamron Hall actually walked onto the stage and handed the flag back to Corey Feldman, which actually just brought more notice to the moment. It's actually really unfortunate because "Take a Stand" is a patriotic song; so, disrespecting an American flag during a performance is, in theory, the last thing that should go along with singing it.
Corey Feldman also told People that he is extremely sorry for causing any ill will with viewers. He was just trying to perform and was thinking of the flag as more of a prop than a symbol for the American values he was trying to make us think about with his song lyrics. If nothing else, it shows the harm in throwing together a routine at the last minute before it has been thought through from all angles.

Corey Feldman's musical performances have numbered just two in recent months. The first one was watched by a lot of people, but did receive some backlash. Now with this flag incident, there's plenty more to talk about. Corey Feldman is clearly an intricate personality with a troubled past, but he also genuinely seems like he means well. Here's hoping his personal future and his future performances are a whole lot brighter.
