We Finally Have The Full A Series Of Unfortunate Events Trailer And It's Incredible
We've known for a while that the whole look of A Series of Unfortunate Events would be special. The highly imaginative story of the Baudelaire children will have them unraveling all sorts of mysteries while on countless adventures. We've seen previews featuring Patrick Warburton as the narrator and have finally caught a glimpse of Neil Patrick Harris' Count Olaf, but the first full length trailer for the Netflix drama looks completely incredible, and even gives us a glimpse at Olaf in disguise. Give it a watch, below.
Netflix has been creating a slew of original programming for a couple of years now, and there are actually a few programs coming up on the streaming service's slate that have received quite a bit of notice. Among these are Gilmore Girls, Iron Fist, Trollhunters and, of course A Series of Unfortunate Events, based on the popular children's novels written by Lemony Snicket. Part bizarre and part absurdly funny, A Series of Unfortunate Events will follow the three Baudelaire siblings, who are initially sent to live with Count Olaf after their parents perish in a fire. We see all of this go down in the trailer... and so much more.
Anyone familiar with Lemony Snicket's original novels already knows that A Series of Unfortunate events kicks off with Count Olaf basically trying to steal the orphans' fortune. While bad things continually happen to the Baudelaires, they are also audacious and self-sufficient, as shown in the trailer. The soon escape Count Olaf's clutches---which will seemingly play a part during Season 1, but Olaf is not to be foiled so easily. In fact, we even get to see a few of his disguises.
The series, while rather grim-looking in style, is also going to be very, very funny. A few of the jokes we loved in the trailer included a comment about what "perished" means and Count Olaf talking about how when the hourglass runs out, he will prevail, only to immediately talk about how the hourglass is discounted and kind-of crappy. The whole thing is basically a hoot even when there are wild shenanigans going on, and we can't wait to actually see it on the small screen.
Luckily, we don't have too much longer to wait. A Series of Unfortunate Events has been in development for quite some time. New episodes of the long-awaited drama are set to hit the schedule on Friday the 13th of January, 2017. Like other Netflix programs, you can expect the new episodes at 12:01 a.m. PT.
