What’s Cancelled And Renewed In 2017? Here's The Rundown Of How Network Shows Are Doing
It's been a new trend at the major networks over the past couple of years to avoid canceling poorly performing TV series, well at least early on in the TV season. One way to spot a floundering show is to keep an eye out for a major network cutting the episode order of a series, especially if it is a freshman program and therefore new to the network in question. Or, you can just check out our full guide below to see what shows ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and The CW have canceled, renewed and given full episode orders for.
If you'd also like to take a look at what is headed to TV soon, check out our full premiere schedules for both the midseason shows and the summer shows.
ABC
Among the big networks, ABC may have had the toughest time so far this season. Although the channel has yet to actually cancel a drama that premiered this fall, ABC has cut the episode orders of several of its shows, which does not bode well for the future of its primetime offerings. CBS
While NCIS is renewed for quite some time, the big question related to CBS was whether or whether not The Big Bang Theory will be back next season. The ratings The Big Bang Theory is pulling in is enough to justify the enormous budget on the show, at least that's what the big two-season renewal came down to, since it required some cast members to take pay cuts in order to fund others' contracts. CBS has had some other winners this season, too, including Kevin Can Wait and the Michael Weatherly starrer Bull. Read on to see where those and more will be next season.

The CW
The CW is seeing some interesting successes this season, with the addition of Supergirl to the DC Comics Arrow-verse that has maintained vocal fanbases despite quiet ratings. It doesn't help that favorites like Beauty and the Beast and The Vampire Diaries are over now, with Reign coming to an end this year. Regardless, it's never easy to guess what The CW will do, given low-rated shows like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend find themselves renewed primarily because of critical success.
