First Look At Craig Ferguson's Lip Sync Battle Performance Is Undeniably Strange
The best episodes of Lip Sync Battle often result from the most unexpected appearances. Actors, comedians, and celebrities not necessarily known for high-energy performances have a tendency to cut loose when they appear on the Spike TV series, and the results are generally fantastic. This week's episode of Lip Sync Battle will see a showdown between late night comics when Craig Ferguson goes head to head with Jay Leno, and it is already clear that Ferguson is bringing his A-game to the affair. In fact, a clip from one of his performances has just hit the web, and it is guaranteed to be one of the most insane things that you will see all day. Check out the clip below to see for yourself. You have been warned.
I know that clip does not provide us with a look at Jay Leno's performance on the upcoming episode of Lip Sync Battle, but it is very clear that he has his work cut out for him. Craig Ferguson goes full out with his rendition of ABBA's "Take A Chance On Me," and he holds nothing back in his performance. Whether or not that's commendable is up to you to decide, but there's certainly no denying that Ferguson gives this performance everything he has. His intensity alone is phenomenal, but the song is made all the more memorable by the inclusion of a bizarre blonde wig and a delightful cat shirt. Seriously, where do I buy one of those shirts?
Arguably no reaction to this clip sums up Craig Ferguson's performance more than the look on LL Cool J's face as he watches the late night comedian make a complete and utter fool out of himself. The Lip Sync Battle host has pretty much seen it all since the Spike TV series premiered in 2015, but Ferguson seems to have induced a face that we have seldom seen from the rapper-turned-actor.
That is the beauty of a show like Lip Sync Battle; it affords well-known and beloved public figures the chance to cut loose and showcase a side of themselves that we do not often get to see. Sure, Craig Ferguson is known as a career comedian all around the world, but he is still a relatively straight-laced comic who wears a suit, tells nightly monologues, and interviews guests. Unlike Jimmy Fallon, he is not known for passionate lip-syncing, and it's awesome to see an entirely new side of the TV funnyman.
We will keep you up to date with all of the latest and greatest Lip Sync Battle news as more information is made available to us.
