Celine Dion Is Joining The Voice

On The Voice, the people sitting in the chairs are almost as important as the contestants themselves. The coaches and mentors play an integral role in raising up the next big winner and if you're going to be on the show this season, you might want to hop on Team Gwen, because she just got a killer advisor. The NBC's hit singing competition show as always boasted an impressive amount of talent filling out the positions of coaches and mentors, and today it only gets better with the news that the iconic Celine Dion will be joining the upcoming Season 12.

Celine Dion shared the news herself through her Twitter account, revealing that she would be the Battle Round advisor for Gwen Stefani's team on the twelfth season of The Voice. The French Canadian singer posted a picture of herself with Stefani with a caption that read she was "very excited" to join Team Gwen and try to find the next winner of the hit singing competition. Dion may not be sitting in the giant swivel chair herself, but having the advice of such a powerful singer in your corner is still pretty good.

It'll be Dion's first time on The Voice but Stefani will be returning for the third time in the position of coach. Stefani first joined the show in Season 7 as a coach and then she came back again in Season 9. She took a brief break from the chair in Season 10 to serve as the advisor for Blake Shelton's team, but now she's back and ready to help the people on the show to compete. With Dion on her side, this season is already looking pretty good for Stefani!

The Voice

With Celine Dion appearing on the show this season, it makes me wonder if we're possibly going to be getting a performance out of the French-Canadian singer. Dion will be providing the vocals for an all-new song in the new Beauty and the Beast live-action movie and The Voice is known for promoting plenty of projects (like it did last season with Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping). Could people get their first taste of this Beauty and the Beast song on The Voice? I'd say it's likely, especially considering that Dion sang the original "Beauty and the Beast" back in 1991. Never underestimate the power of nostalgia.

Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Alicia Keys join Gwen Stefani as coaches for Season 12 of The Voice. The new season will premiere on February 27, Monday, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. To learn about more shows coming back this season, check out our midseason TV premiere guide!
