Looks Like Real Housewives Of Orange County Is Totally Falling Apart
The Real Housewives franchise on Bravo has changed the face of reality television, and it's all thanks to the premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County back in 2006. The series has run for eleven seasons so far, and there has been plenty of drama to keep it going strong. Now, however, it looks like The Real Housewives of Orange County is falling apart due to some major changes behind the scenes. Several of the Season 11 main housewives are rumored to be departing the series before Season 12.
Heather Dubrow has made the official announcement that she will not return to The Real Housewives of Orange County. She joined the show in Season 7 and has brought her share of drama in the years since. Dubrow made the decision to depart because she intends to go in a new direction for her career and her family, according to Bravo. She also revealed that the team at Real Housewives of Orange County have said that "the door is always open," so there's a chance that she won't be gone from the show forever.
Kelly Dodd may also be making a break from The Real Housewives of Orange County. While she hasn't made an official statement anywhere, she posted comments on Twitter saying that "it's prob unlikely" that she'll be back. She didn't rule out appearing in Season 12, but she doesn't seem interested in spending another season sparring with other housewives in the spotlight. As Dodd was only a main cast member for one season, her departure may not make that much of a difference to the future of the series.
The third housewife who may be leaving the show was around for a little longer than Kelly Dodd. Meghan King Edmonds is rumored take her leave from The Real Housewives of Orange County after one season as a guest and two seasons as a main member of the cast. Sources have reportedly confirmed Edmonds' decision to leave to Us Weekly, but Edmonds herself has yet to make a statement about whether she intends to stay or go.
As only Heather Dubrow's departure has been confirmed, we can't say for sure if the Real Housewives of Orange County will lose all three of these women for Season 12. The eleventh season featured about as much melodrama as could be expected from any of the Real Housewives series. Still, there was an edge to some of the conflict that wasn't necessarily present in earlier seasons.
Heather Dubrow and Meghan King Edmonds were openly critical of long-running housewife Vicki Gunvalson after the controversy surrounding her former boyfriend's false claims of a cancer diagnosis. Gunvalson supported him despite evidence that he lied about his cancer treatment, and her fellow housewives did not appreciate her handling of the situation. Throw in the fact that Dubrow and Edmonds discovered that Gunvalson was telling stories about them in chats with Kelly Dodd, and it's not too big of a shock that Dubrow and Edmonds may be taking their leave. Dodd is a bit more surprising, but her exit isn't a sure thing at this point.
Of course, Season 12 isn't a sure thing either. Bravo has not announced a renewal for the series, so there's a chance that none of the housewives will be back on the airwaves.
