Watch A Wind Machine Work Wonders In Sarah Hyland's Lip Sync Battle
Sarah Hyland has made a name for herself on ABC's Modern Family over the last several TV seasons, partially due to her big doe eyes but also her excellent comedic timing on the series. She's also a bit of a singer, as well, and Lip Sync Battle is the perfect vehicle to combine her comedy skills sets with her ability to perform. You can catch her wind blown rendition of "Don't Cha," below.
Seriously, this is only a preview of this week's episode of Lip Sync Battle, which will pit the Modern Family star against the NBA all-star DeAndre Jordan, but it already looks like Sarah Hyland has the upper hand. She pops up onstage in a truly ridiculous pink plastic outfit that is fairly revealing. Her looks are only emphasized with the wind machine she adds to her performance. No one's hair looks that good by itself. Really.
Choosing a Pussycat Dolls song is honestly a pretty bold move, but Sarah Hyland does not remotely seem concerned about using her sex appeal to her own distinct advantage. Honestly, I think DeAndre Jordan is going to have some real trouble pulling off a win here, despite the fact he looks like he's having a lot of fun, and has awesome-looking hair, to boot. In fact, this could have gone even better were the show not about lip syncing. Sarah Hyland has a notoriously lovely voice, and kicked off her acting career in musicals like Annie and Grey Gardens. We're losing half her talent watching her just lip sync here.
Lip Sync Battle has been a major win for Spike ever since it hit the schedule in 2015. Spawning from a popular segment on The Tonight Show, Lip Sync Battle has managed to pull in some big names, including Channing Tatum, Anne Hathaway and more. Season 3 has been airing in the schedule since October and Sarah Hyland's episode will be the twelfth in a season that has also featured Craig Ferguson, Milla Jovovich, Ray Lewis, Wanda Sykes, Don Cheadle, Rob Riggle and Lupita Nyong'o. The show is down in the ratings a bit from its early heights but the talent the show attracts is probably going to be enough to bring the series back for a fourth season over at the network.
We'll let you know as soon as Spike makes a decision about Season 4. In the meantime, you can catch new episodes of Lip Sync Battle on Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET, only on Spike. To find out what other shows are headed to the schedule, take a look at our midseason TV premiere schedule.
