Flip Or Flop's Tarek And Christina Are Back In Business
It has been a few weeks since we learned that Tarek El Moussa and Christina El Moussa had ultimately decided to get divorced. The couple, who have hosted Flip or Flop on HGTV since 2013, have stated over and over again that they would like to continue filming the series and working together on the business end. That's always seemed to be a tough goal, but this weekend, Tarek and Christina El Moussa went to an investor's summit in Las Vegas to talk about their success and maintain a committed business front. It looks as if they are really doing it, people.
In the time since the divorcing couple made the decision to split, rumors have reported that things have been a little tense on the set of Flip or Flop, which has been compounded by the fact that the couple has been dating other people. Still, TMZ reports that even if the two entrepreneurs are not happy with their business arrangement they are continuing to forge ahead--especially as the ratings for Flip or Flop have not suffered in the least after all the publicity. The fact that Tarek and Christina have agreed to appear in public outside of shooting the series is also an encouraging sign that the show and the business agreement will continue.
By all accounts, the divorce between Tarek El Moussa and Christina El Moussa has been strained at best. The couple split after a reported altercation last spring involving a gun. The police were called on the scene and Tarek ran outside with the gun, eventually yielding the weapons in his home to the police. He told police he was trying to blow off steam. The couple separated soon after and announced their divorce in January. Both Tarek and Christina have been spotted dating other people in the time since, complicating matters further.
Whether or not the couple's relationship has been strained since they decided to divorce, we already know that Flip or Flop shot a slew of episodes that are expected to air during 2017, so the HGTV show is not going to be ending tomorrow. Recent reports have indicated this last batch of episodes may be the last for Flip or Flop, but no official announcement has been made, yet. Obviously, Tarek and Christina El Moussa will still have to co-parent their two children after the divorce, and if they can extend the civility to their HGTV show, it's possible that Flip or Flop will survive the divorce.
We'll let you know as soon as HGTV makes an official decision. For now, new episodes of Flip or Flop are airing on the network, with the most recent hitting the schedule on February 9. You can take a look at what else is headed to TV with our midseason premiere schedule.
