William Shatner Really, Really Wants The Bachelor's Nick Viall Booted Off Dancing With The Stars
A brand new season of Dancing with the Stars has officially kicked off on ABC, and plenty of viewers everywhere already have their favorites picked out. In the case of Star Trek star William Shatner, however, he already has his least favorite picked out. Shatner has taken to Twitter with a mission to get former Bachelor leading man Nick Viall booted off the series as soon as possible. He kicked off his Twitter storm with a straightforward call for his followers to kick Viall out of the competition:
This first tweet wasn't anything too sinister; William Shatner just didn't want Nick Viall to win and thought it would be best to knock him out of the running as soon as possible. He got his message out to his nearly 2.5 million followers, and at first, it seemed like this first tweet was all we'd hear from Shatner about Dancing with the Stars. Then, the tweets continued.
William Shatner began actively advocating for any other contestant over Nick Viall. In fact, he was on board with bombarding the Dancing with the Stars voting line to try and get as many votes for other contestants as possible. Let no one accuse Shatner of doing things halfway!
It wasn't long before folks on Twitter began to question why William Shatner was so vehemently against Nick Viall winning Dancing with the Stars. Shatner didn't give a direct answer, but it seems that his dislike of Viall steps from his time on The Bachelorette.
Who knew that William Shatner was such a fan of The Bachelorette? Of course, Season 10 of The Bachelorette was only the first time that Nick Viall appeared in The Bachelor franchise, and he didn't make a great impression on viewers for his behavior toward leading lady Andi Dorfman, but he was somewhat more endearing to viewers in his next few appearances in the franchise. By the time he finished his latest run on The Bachelor, he'd stolen the hearts of many...except, apparently, for William Shatner.
Nick Viall became aware of Shatner's attempts to get him voted off of Dancing with the Stars at some point, and he had a Twitter response of his own:
It wasn't exactly the most vicious response ever to be posted in a Twitter conflict, but I guess he made his point. Nick Viall's Dancing with the Stars partner Peta Murgatroyd also weighed in on William Shatner's Twitter vendetta, posting this:

We'll have to wait and see if all William Shatner's social media efforts produce any results. This isn't the first time Shatner has gone to war on Twitter, so he presumably knows what works and what doesn't to draw attention to his cause. Tune in to Dancing with the Stars on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC to see how long Nick Viall lasts in the competition, and don't forget to take a look at our midseason TV premiere guide and summer TV premiere schedule.
