The Awesome Way This Is Us' Stars Got Honored By The Pittsburgh Steelers
If you're a fan of This Is Us, you know the Pearson family bleeds black and yellow. For that reason, the Pittsburgh Steelers had both stars Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia out to Heinz Field, where the team gave the on-screen Pearson parents an awesome gift that both Rebecca and Jack would die for. (Too soon?) Check it out:
Both Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore were out at the iconic Pittsburgh stadium for Fan Blitz 2017 during this year's NFL Draft. While both actors appeared in an official capacity to announce the Steelers draft picks for the upcoming NFL season, Mandy Moore briefly took over the Steelers' Instagram account to say they were "filming stuff." I'm not one to start rumors here, but what exactly are they "filming stuff" for? Judging by their contemporary outfits and uniforms, it doesn't appear this is some secret look at Season 2 of This Is Us, but maybe they're doing some cool video package for those who visit the stadium. I know Indianapolis Colts fans are still greeted by Parks And Recreation characters Ron Swanson and Leslie Knope on the Jumbotron when they go to home games, so maybe this is something similar? Or maybe the filming was on break.
In either case, it's definitely cool to see the cast of This Is Us getting so cozy with the actual Pittsburgh Steelers. I personally would love to see an episode filmed at Heinz Field -- although it would have to be made up to look like the now-gone Three Rivers Stadium -- or perhaps some other tie-in that further roots the show in Pittsburgh. Seeing as the series went to so much trouble ensuring Memphis, Tennessee, actually looked like the city, I can totally see something like this happening down the road for the series. The present part of the show takes place largely in New York, so they would likely have to make it a flashback scene, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't love to see Kate Pearson attempting to drag Toby to the Pittsburgh stadium for a current home game.
As far as This Is Us Season 2 is concerned, we still don't have an official premiere date yet. Our best guess -- you can find that and more in our Season 2 guide -- says September 2017, which sounds like a great deal to me, considering that's only four months away. With the fireworks from Jack and Rebecca's last encounter still burning out in the universe, expect this season to be loaded with more twists and turns and, perhaps, the answer as to how Jack Pearson died.
While we wait patiently for more news regarding that amazing show, don't forget there's still a lot of great television currently running and premiering that you should be aware of.
