Watch Kaley Cuoco Sing The Big Bang Theory Theme Song
Kaley Cuoco knocks it out of the park as Penny on The Big Bang Theory, but how well does she know the show the way that fans see it? Cuoco's skills were put to the test on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when a fan asked her to sing the series' theme song. Check out how she did in the video below and continue reading:
Not bad for an on-the-spot performance! While she may not have hit all the notes on Jimmy Fallon, I think we can all be impressed by the fact that she managed to get all the lyrics to The Big Bang Theory theme right. As someone who's failed many a time singing "One Week," by The Barenaked Ladies, I can attest that performing one of their songs (in this case, the theme song) is easier said than done. Then again, when you've been with the show over 200 episodes, I'm sure that theme is just grating in your head day in and day out.
While Kaley Cuoco's performance was pretty impressive, it would've been sweeter if she dived into a Lip Sync Battle take on the expanded version of the song. In fact, there are two more verses to "The History Of Everything" that I'm sure most people are unaware of. The two successive verses beyond where the opening credits end are a bit faster-paced and cover the age of dinosaurs all the way to Einstein in a tune that's undeniably catchy, although a bit too long for a show theme song. For that reason, creator Chuck Lorre and the writing team asked The Barenaked Ladies to summarize the entire science-y history in a more compacted form, which is the first part of the primetime ditty.
Kaley Cuoco and the rest of The Big Bang Theory team are still going strong on Season 10 with a new episode airing tonight at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. Don't forget that next Thursday is the Season 10 finale, and while it's sad you won't get to see the gang on television for awhile, keep in mind that it's guaranteed to be around for at least two more seasons!
