How Game Of Thrones Will Deliver With Its Season 7 Premiere
It's almost hard to believe, but Game of Thrones will return to us in just a few short weeks. The massively popular fantasy series was pushed back this week, adding some extra time to the show's already excruciating hiatus. But with just two short seasons left, we should expect a much faster pace and plenty of payoffs in the coming episodes. And now it looks like this big moments will start as soon as Season 7's premiere episode, which will reportedly feature a new character meet-up.
This news comes to us from EW, who managed to get a scoop about Game of Thrones' upcoming premiere. While they didn't have specifics on which characters will interact, signs seem to point to Euron Greyjoy and Dany.
Seriously, I can't wait these next few weeks. Just give me the damn dragons, already.
News of a new meet-up happening in the first episode of Season 7 is sure to be exciting for Game of Thrones fans. The pace for the fantasy series has been a source of contention within the fandom, as earlier seasons were stretched out and heavily curated. While this created a fascinating world full of beloved characters, all of the stories felt capsulated and separate from each other, especially Dany's.
But this began to chance in Season 6. Last season began to finally gift the fans with highly anticipated moments that some had been looking forward to for decades. Sansa and Jon reunited at Winterfell, Cersei blew up her enemies in the Sept of Baelor, and Daenerys finally began sailing to Westeros to begin conquering. And now that the show's conclusion is slowly approaching, we should expect even more explosive moments in Season 7.
While it's unclear who will be meeting in Season 7's premiere episode, smart money says that it involves Euron Greyjoy. While he only made one appearance in Season 6, it was a powerful one. Theon's Uncle is a total asshole who came back to the Iron Islands just to kill his brother and take the Salt Throne away from Yara. And when the siblings departed their home with a fleet and headed to make an alliance with Dany, he vowed to kill his niece and nephew. Smart money says Euron will be the big villain of this season, and he and Cersei will likely wed to solidify and alliance and battle Cersei's many enemies.
Game of Thrones will return for Season 7 on July 16, 2017. In the meantime, check out our summer premiere list to plan your next trip to the movies.
