Arrow's Deathstroke Looks Ready To Escape From Star City With Snake Plissken In New Photo
Ever since his initial introduction in Season 1 of Arrow, Manu Bennett's Slade Wilson has remained a consistent fan-favorite enemy (and sometimes ally) to Oliver Queen. Now, with Season 6 of Arrow on the horizon, it looks like the character is about to come back in a major way. In fact, Bennett has just shared a photo of himself from the set of the DC series, and it looks like he is seriously channeling his inner Snake Plissken this year. Take a look at the actor's photo below to see for yourself.
We cannot confirm if Manu Bennett is intentionally giving us an homage to John Carpenter's 1982 classic Escape from New York, but it definitely looks like it. Not only does his eye patch instantly conjure memories of Kurt Russell's Snake Plissken, but the jacket and a black shirt underneath also invoke thoughts of the lethal mercenary's more casual attire. Given the fact that Snake and Deathstroke are both cycloptic badasses and expert escape artists, I guess it only makes sense to lean into the comparisons.

If you happen to be a fan of Arrow's Deathstroke, then it sounds like this year is going to be a great season of the show for you. Although the character experienced a prolonged absence through most of Season 3 and all of Season 4, he made a glorious return at the end of Season 5 to help Oliver rescue his friends and allies from Lian Yu. His fate (along with the fate of most members of Team Arrow) was left ambiguous at the end of the Season 5, but early glimpses at Season 6 (even beyond this photo) have confirmed that we will see more badass Deathstroke moments.
In fact, it has also been revealed that we will even get an entire episode dedicated to filling in the gaps between Slade's initial escape from the Amazo and his Mirakuru-fueled mission for vengeance against Oliver in 2014. If you're a Deathstroke fan, then it looks like Season 6 is going to be right up your alley.
Arrow will return to The CW on Thursday, October 12 at 9 p.m. ET. As for the rest of the highly anticipated TV shows slated to premiere within the next few months (Arrow-verse or otherwise) check out CinemaBlend's fall TV premiere guide.
