Norman Reedus' Favorite Prank He's Pulled On Walking Dead Co-Star Andrew Lincoln
The Walking Dead is one of the most grim shows on the small screen thanks to all the violence, death, and gore that gets served up on a weekly basis courtesy of the zombie apocalypse. Episodes usually aren't very funny, and characters don't seem to have much fun. Luckily for the actors, that's not always the base behind the scenes. Norman Reedus has become something of a prankster, and he frequently targets co-star Andrew Lincoln. Now, as we're counting down the weeks until The Walking Dead returns for Season 8, Reedus has revealed which of his Andrew Lincoln pranks is his favorite, saying this:
Poor Andrew Lincoln! By his own admission, Reedus has pulled some insane pranks, including filling Lincoln's trailer with chickens on the last day of shooting for one season. He also shared a video of when he filled Lincoln's car's air conditioning vent on a boiling hot day with glitter. Basically, Norman Reedus will do pretty much anything to prank his pal. In this case, however, it sounds like Andrew Lincoln had no reason to be suspicious. He and Norman Reedus were on a press tour in Japan, and all he wanted to do was say something friendly to the Japanese press. Reedus seized his opportunity to mess with Lincoln and gave him a sentence in Japanese that didn't mean what Lincoln intended.
Instead of "Thank you for having me in your country," Norman Reedus taught Andrew Lincoln to say this in Japanese:
Norman Reedus' reveal to ComicBook.com that the Japan prank is his favorite proves that his pranks don't have to be elaborately premeditated to be fun to pull. Andrew Lincoln might have had less fun with this and all the other pranks, but at least somebody got a laugh! If you haven't seen the video of this particular prank for yourself, take a look:
I'm not sure what my favorite part of the prank video is, although I definitely got a kick out of Norman Reedus' expression as he was trying not to crack up before he could break the news of what he'd done to Andrew Lincoln. As for Andrew Lincoln... well, his reaction indicates that he's resigned himself to a life filed with pranks as long as Reedus is around.
We'll soon get to see Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus back together on the small screen, although probably with far fewer pranks. They'll return as Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon when The Walking Dead Season 8 premieres on Sunday, October 22 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. Check out our fall TV guide for your other viewing options.
