One Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Side Character Who We’ll See More Of In Season 3
It's been an exciting few weeks for avid TV fans, as networks have been rolling out season premiers at exciting speeds. But there are quite a few small screen favorites that are still on hiatus, including The CW's musical comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The critically acclaimed series will dive headfirst into Season 3 next week, picking up after the hilarious and horrifying results of Rebecca's wedding in the Season 2 finale. There have been some interesting behind the scenes changes happening as well, with actor Scott Michael Foster being promoted to a series regular for the third season. But Nathaniel won't be the only character we'll get more of. When speaking with CinemaBlend about Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Season 3, Foster revealed a certain tertiary character who will be popping up more in the show's third installment: George, played by comedian Danny Jolles.
That's right. It's finally George's turn. After two seasons of being the office doormat, it looks like George will get more screen time when Crazy Ex-Girlfriend returns. Now the question is: how?
One of the ways Crazy Ex-Girlfriend stands out from the rest of the competition is how the show builds upon jokes and bits, slowly defining each character's quirks. This is especially prominent with Rebecca's co-workers at Whitefeather & Associates. And while Mad TV's Stephnie Weir may be chewing the scenery as Weird Karen, George has been known to steal a scene or two as well. The recurring bit around George is that no one in the office can remember his name, despite his best efforts. Nathaniel fired George when he first started working at the firm, although he was eventually hired back. Directly after the sacking, he finally got a spotlight and a solo, only for the screen to suddenly cut to black and go to commercial.
It should be interesting to see how George factors into Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Season 3. Later on in Season 2 he grew a bit of a backbone, refusing to help Nathaniel and Rebecca escape from a stalled elevator unless they remembered his name. But did it actually stick? We'll just have to wait and see, especially how his strange relationship with Scott Michael Foster's character continues to grow.
Cray Ex-Girlfriend may have a rocky road to renewal after Season 3, as the series racked up far less award nominations this past season. Rebecca Bloom's Golden Globe win was largely considered how the show got to Season 2, because the show has failed to get any substantial ratings.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will return for Season 3 October 13, 2017 on The CW. In the meantime, check out our fall premiere list to plan your next binge watch.
