Farrah Abraham Claims MTV Fired Her In Long Rant Accusing The Company Of 'Sex Shaming'
Farrah Abraham is no stranger to controversy and drama in the spotlight. She made her showbiz debut back in 2009 as a member of the 16 and Pregnant cast on MTV, then made the move to the 16 and Pregnant spinoff Teen Mom. She has made headlines in the years since due to everything ranging from her personal life to her relationships with other Teen Mom cast members. Now, Abraham has evidently been fired by MTV, and she posted a rant on social media about why she believes it happened.
Aside from her work on 16 and Pregnant, Teen Mom, and Big Brother in the U.K., Farrah Abraham is known for releasing sex tapes and promoting a sex toy company. She apparently was featured in a recent pornographic webcam show with a Halloween twist. According to her in her Facebook post, her work in the adult industry is what got her fired by Viacom and MTV. Here is one choice passage from her long rant:
It seems that MTV/Viacom allegedly told Farrah Abraham that she would out of a job due to her work in the adult industry taking attention from her work on Teen Mom, although no statement from the company has yet been released. Abraham seems to believe that the real reason she was fired was because of "sex shaming" and "women hating."
There's no denying that Farrah Abraham has been a major part of Teen Mom from the very beginning, although not everybody might agree that Abraham is the biggest draw of the series. We'll have to wait and see if viewership for Teen Mom changes after Abraham departs. The trailer for the next Teen Mom season was posted along with Abraham's Facebook message, and she's featured, so fans will still see her on the show. You can check out the trailer (and the full post) for yourself:
Teen Mom will return to MTV with new episodes on November 27. A lot of drama is undoubtedly still in store from all the cast. For your other viewing options, take a look at our fall TV guide.
