Is The Flash Trying To Kill Caitlin Off Soon?
The Flash has seen Danielle Panabaker's Caitlin Snow get into (and out of) some serious scrapes over the course of three and a half seasons, but a new episode synopsis that's been released is giving us a feeling that the (sort of) erstwhile Killer Frost might not be around for much longer. Episode 9, which will air on December 5, will find both Caitlin and Barry in some big trouble, and see the team grappling with which one to save.
Hmmm...OK, well, this does not look good for Caitlin at all, am I right? I mean, seriously, if Iris is still in charge of Team Flash (and it seems that she is) and she has to choose between saving someone who is only slightly more than a work friend and saving her fiancee, I'm pretty sure most people would put their money on Iris having the team save Barry. Not only has Iris already lost a fiancee (R.I.P. Eddie), but Barry is constantly in peril and she just got his fast ass back from Speed Force Prison, so she is going to be incredibly unlikely to be willing to sacrifice him in favor of Caitlin. And, let's not forget that the team wouldn't exist at all without Barry, who is still Central City's best line of defense against the constantly evolving threat of regular criminals and metas alike.
Of course, while it wouldn't be out of the question for Caitlin to suffer a mortal injury during the course of Episode 9, there are more likely options on the table. For instance, even though Amunet will trap Caitlin with the help of meta-inhibiting handcuffs, I can see super smart Caitlin figuring out a way to get out of those cuffs that don't involve her Killer Frost powers. The same goes for Barry as he's trapped in The Thinker's anti-speedster prison; he could find a way out. Also, with the rest of Team Flash working on getting Barry out, they might be able to free him soon enough that he's then able to find Caitlin and get her out of this dangerous jam.
It'll be a few weeks until we see whether or not Caitlin will make it out of Amunet's clutches alive, but you can keep up with The Flash at 7 p.m. CST on Tuesdays.
