Dancing With The Stars Season 25 Just Awarded The Mirrorball Trophy
Warning: spoilers ahead for the Season 25 finale of Dancing with the Stars.
Dancing with the Stars kicked off a new round of competition this fall with Season 25. A brand new batch of celebrities teamed up with some of the best professional dancers ever to appear on the small screen, and competition has been fierce. Despite rumors of behind-the-scenes melodrama and a serious injury that threatened to take one couple out of the running, some of the performances in Season 25 may go down as among the best in the history of the series. Now, the season has come to an end, and the Mirrorball Trophy has been awarded to the top pair of dancers: Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold. Congrats to Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold!
The first couple to be eliminated was Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson. While Frankie Muniz brought a lot of emotion and enthusiasm to Dancing with the Stars, he wasn't the strongest of the stars left in the running in the Season 25 finale. Although he did well enough in his final dance -- scoring 28 out of 30 -- it wasn't quite enough combined with the votes from fans to get him into the top two. Only the very best of the best can take the Mirrorball Trophy, and Muniz didn't make the cut.
Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas made it to the very end, but they simply didn't have the votes to win. The good news for them is that they went out on a very high note, as their final dance earned them a perfect score of 30 from the judges. Even if the Mirrorball Trophy didn't go to them, they can be proud of what they did in Season 25 of Dancing with the Stars.
The Season 25 finale actually kicked off on November 20, which featured the elimination of Drew Scott and Emma Slater. As for who would emerge as the top dancers in the second half of the finale... well, it was still anyone's game. Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold ended the night with perfect score of 40, as did Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas. Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson performed well as well, although they fell short of the magic 40 with a score of 38. Still, Muniz has been popular in Season 25 after dropping a jaw-dropping revelation, and there was no saying who would win enough popular votes to win.
