The Arrow-verse Character Who Could Save Everybody In The Crisis On Earth-X Crossover
Warning: many spoilers are ahead for the first two episodes of the "Crisis On Earth-X" crossover.
The first half of the four-part "Crisis On Earth-X" crossover between Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow finally aired on The CW, and things are looking rough for the heroes. Oliver, Barry, Kara, Sara, and others were captured by Nazis and transported to Earth-X to be imprisoned in a concentration camp. Half of the Legends are apparently in the Middle Ages with the Waverider, and Dark Arrow dropped by STAR Lab to incapacitate the fighting members of Team Arrow (sans Diggle), Killer Frost, and Mick. Felicity and Iris are trapped in STAR Lab with a bunch of Nazi soldiers and very limited fighting skills of their own. Basically, somebody is going to need to step up in a big way to save the day for everybody, and that somebody is almost certainly Cisco Ramon.
Cisco was actually out of commission for the majority of the first half of "Crisis On Earth-X," having been injured and severely concussed in the church throwdown between the Nazis and the heroes. He was last seen unconscious in bed in STAR Lab, but he wasn't rendered comatose or paralyzed or anything that would necessarily keep him down for the count. We also know from trailers and promotional photos that Cisco will be back in the mix, and obviously the rest of the crossover isn't going to consist of heroes locked in cells or trapped in a concentration camp. Cisco could be the key to saving everybody and everything.
His powers as Vibe are formidable. He doesn't seem to have an evil double on the Nazi side, so it's possible that his abilities to vibe and breach can't be countered by any of the bad guys. Perhaps even more importantly, however, none of the bad guys seem to know that Cisco is around. The Nazis appear to have everything under control on Earth-1 and Earth-X, and Cisco is a variable that may be unaccounted for. After all, he hasn't faced off against them since he went down hard in the church. If they remember him at all, they may believe that he died in the church.
For Felicity and Iris' sake, we have to hope that Cisco wakes up from his state sooner rather than later. They're two brilliant and brave women, but they also lack superpowers and the kind of training that allows folks like Oliver and Sara to kick ass without superpowers. There are a lot of Nazis soldiers in STAR Lab, and it's likely only a matter of time before Iris and Felicity are found out. They could use the help of a friend, especially one who is such a wild card in the bad guys' plan at the moment. Cisco may just be enough of an unknown element that he changes everything and turns the tide for the heroes in the rest of "Crisis on Earth-X."
Only time will tell. The rest of the "Crisis On Earth-X" event will kick off tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET with an episode of The Flash. We can only hope that Cisco is up and at 'em sooner rather than later. The reveal of why the Nazis invaded Earth-1 was pretty insane, but we have a wild theory about one character who just debuted.
