Love And Hip Hop: Atlanta Production Was Postponed After Alleged Hit And Run
Reality television thrives on real-life moments that turn crazy in an instant, but obviously, producers want those crazy moments to be somewhat measured and not completely over the top. Unfortunately, a recent incident on the set of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta was not only completely unscripted, but also highly illegal, and resulted in the injury of a member of the staff. Production on the series has been postponed due to an alleged hit and run injuring a security guard who worked for the series.
While Mimi Faust and other members of the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta cast prepared to shoot some scenes of a shopping trip in the Buckhead neighborhood, an angry mall shopper was upset the production was in their way. The shopper, who was looking to get into a parking spot that was being held by a security guard who worked for the show, revved their engine and struck the security guard with their vehicle. TMZ reported the guard had his left leg injured, and the customer went into a golf store before fleeing the scene.
That quick trip to the golf store might prove to be what gets that person caught, as police went into the store in an effort to obtain surveillance footage and identify the driver. At this time, no arrests have been made for the incident, although, one would think, given the incident happened to a member of the staff of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta in one of the more upscale neighborhoods in the city, that the investigation will continue until someone is discovered. The incident happened December 6th, and while Mimi Faust was apparently on location at the time of the incident, she made no reference to the event on her Twitter. Having said that, Faust is not the most active tweeter, so it's not out of character that she wouldn't detail all the events of her day on social media.
Given the time of the incident, it's likely Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta is back into production. The series is set to return to VH1 in 2018 with Season 7, although it's unknown when fans can expect to see it. Hopefully, the rest of the season can continue safely and without anyone else getting injured.
While Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta is still filming its next season, Love & Hip Hop: New York is all new tonight on VH1 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
