Kyle XY is a series about a guy with no bellybutton and a very mysterious background. When the series began, 16-year-old Kyle was found in the woods outside Seattle with no memory of who he was or where he came from. Nicole Trager, a psychologist takes him in and makes him part of the family. Not only does Kyle not know where he comes from but he doesn’t seem to know how to do normal things like eat or communicate with people so it takes him a little while to fit in.

The series follows Kyle as he comes to learn that he has special abilities, meets a girl named Jessi who is similar to him (possibly his female counterpart) and we eventually come to learn that he’s some kind of clone. At the halfway point of the second season, Jessi betrayed Kyle by taking some information from his mind. After a brief confrontation, she jumps off a cliff and her fate is unknown. When the season picks up, Kyle will head back to the Tragers where he plans to tell them everything about who he is and what has been going on.

The only reason I’ve ever even heard of Kyle XY is because I’ve seen commercials for the series while watching one of the best guilty-pleasure channels ever created. No, I’m not talking about Lifetime. I’m referring to ABC Family. Between the cheesy feel-good movies that air on the weekend and the fact that I’ve fallen in love with their original series, Greek, I’ve seen quite a few ads for Kyle XY but I haven’t as of yet gotten around to watching it.

So I invite you, dear readers to tell me why I should consider watching Kyle XY when the second season picks up this week. Am I way too far behind to far behind to even bother? Should I Tivo the marathon that’s airing Monday morning (starting 11:00 a.m.)?
