My Dad is Better Than Your Dad is a game show in which a father and his kid compete against other in a series of competitions. According to the show’s website, the challenges include: Human Dart Board, The Spinning Discs, Snake Bobbing, Alphabet Soup, Happy Hour, Uphill Battle, Empty Nest, Target Practice, Quiz Round, Scorpion King, Paper Boy Shoot-Out, Arachnophobia, Stinger and for the final team --the "Money" round.

Based on the promo shown below, the game show looks like Family Double Dare, minus the moms and plus a few Fear Factor-esque qualities.

The title of this new show kind of turned me off from the get go. It just sounds corny but after viewing the promos and seeing a bunch of dads subject themselves to some pretty ridiculous looking physical challenges, all for the sake of pleasing their kids and winning some prizes, there might actually be something to this show. Especially considering the shortage of family-friendly primetime programming right now.

I’m not really down with the events that include snakes, worms and spiders but other than that, the series looks like fun. My Dad is Better Than Your Dad could be worth watching, at least for now while some of the scripted dramas and comedies are still out of new episodes or if you’ve got young kids and are looking for something that the whole family can enjoy.
