The Return of Jezebel James centers on Sarah Tompkins (Parker Posey) and her sister Coco (Lauren Ambrose). Sarah is your typical overachiever. She’s successful at everything she does – from her job to her relationships and living situation; she pretty much has it all. But when she decides it’s time to have a baby and finds out that she cant, she isn’t willing to give up without exploring her options.

Sarah tracks down her sister Coco. Coco’s pretty much the total opposite of her sister (unfocused, unmotivated, etc) but somehow, Sarah manages to convince her to carry her child. In exchange, she’ll give Coco a place to stay.
Well the premise sounds somewhat interesting and humorous enough but the real pull of this series for me is the fact that Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) and Parker Posey (Dazed and Confused, Best in Show) are starring in it. Both have proven to be exceptional actors with great comedic timing. So despite the fact that I’ve heard some negative things from some of the reviews that have been posted recently, I’m still planning on tuning in.
