One Tree Hill Vet Bethany Joy Lenz's Mystery Grey's Anatomy Role May Have Been Revealed
There are long running TV dramas, and then there's ABC's Grey's Anatomy. The medical drama is currently in the midst of its whopping 14th season on the network, and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. While this includes its untitled spinoff and a web series revolving around the new set of interns, Grey's Anatomy will also be bringing in some major talent for guest spots in the back half of the season. One of the already announced guest stars is One Tree Hill star Bethany Joy Lenz, and we've finally got an idea of who she'll be playing when she shows up on Grey's.
It turns out that Bethany Joy Lenz will be directly tied into the highly-anticipated plotline involving Jo and her abusive ex husband Paul (played by Glee's Matthew Morrison). According to TV Line'sreport Lenz will be be portraying Jenny, who is the current fiancee of Paul. She'll no doubt have some choice words for Jo, as well as the accusations of physical and emotional abuse that will come up during his time on the series.
This should put the One Tree Hill alum at the center of one of the biggest plot lines of Grey's Anatomy Season 14. Jo revealed that she'd been using a fake identity quite a few seasons into her time on the show, blowing the minds of the millions of Grey's fans who have been watching the medical drama for over a decade. Fans have been eagerly anticipating Paul's inclusion in the series for years now, and Season 14's midseason finale ended with Paul showing up at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and absolutely shocking the surgeon.
Jo's rough history has been a fairly important aspect of Camilla Luddington's signature character. Before she revealed her past with abuse and false identity, Jo also opened up about the time she spent homeless, and living in her car. This helped make her otherwise annoying character more likable and layered, and fans have been anxiously waiting for Paul turn up send the hospital reeling.
Matthew Morrison actually made his debut as Paul in Season 13, when Alex followed him to a surgical convention he was set to appear in. Alex had various flashes and fantasies of beating the living crap out of the abuser, but his recent legal issues related to savagely assaulting DeLuca prevented him from making a move. But that should be quite different now that Paul is in Grey Sloan Memorial. Alex will once again have to try and calm his temper, while Jo reels from meeting her abuser face to face in the place that used to be hers. Hopefully Paul doesn't get hired at the hospital, which would really result in some drama.
Grey's Anatomy will return January 18, 2018. In the meantime, check out CinemaBlend's midseason premiere list to plan your next binge watch, and our cancellation list to see if your favorite show got the chop last year.
