Jersey Shore's Revival Series Has Picked Its New Location
Remakes, reboots, and revivals are all the rage on the small screen nowadays as networks large and small bring past hits back for another go. Some revivals have done better than others, and the odds are the the trend won't be coming to an end any time soon. A revival of MTV's smash hit Jersey Shore has been in the works for a while, and fans have been eagerly awaiting details of how the new series is going to work. Now, we finally have news of where exactly the Jersey Shore Family Vacation show will be set, and it's in what could be the perfect place: Miami.
This isn't the first time that the whole Jersey Shore crew has headed down to Miami for a batch of episodes. They went south for Season 2. It seems rather fitting that the revival is taking them somewhere they've been before but isn't overly familiar to viewers. Deena, Pauly D, JWOWW, Vinny, Ronnie, Nicole, and The Situation will be back in the mix in Miami for Jersey Shore Family Vacation, according to MTV.
No premiere date has yet been set, but we do know that the series will debut at some point this year. Hopefully we can count on it sooner rather than later. After all, we've already been waiting a while for some original recipe Jersey Shore fun/drama. That bizarre Burger King commercial wasn't exactly enough to whet many fans' appetites for more Jersey Shore.
Interestingly, the reveal of where Jersey Shore will be set comes shortly after the show's Twitter account asked fans where they think the revival needs to happen. There was no guarantee that the most popular location would be chosen for the revival, but it was clear that the show was looking to engage with fans. In the post, a number of different places were suggested, including New York, Las Vegas, Chicago, San Fransisco, Dallas, Seattle, Miami, and others.
Given that the post went up on January 8, it's difficult not to wonder if the official decision to take Jersey Shore to Miami actually happened before the request for fans to weigh in was posted. We may never know for sure. What we do know is that going to Miami means revisiting some of the crew's old stomping grounds, which should definitely be entertaining.
