Bob Saget Proposed To His Wife While Watching Stranger Things, And It Gets Sillier
Netflix is producing a ton of original content, but there are certain shows that have been revealed as the service's clear hits. There's Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, and now the Duffer Brothers' Stranger Things. That sci-fi series was an instant hit when it premiered in the summer of 2016, and its triumphant second season has only helped to increase its popularity and critical acclaim. Just about everyone is a fan, including other Netflix stars like Bob Saget. In fact, it turns out that he actually was in the midst of watching Stranger Things 2 when he proposed to his fiancee Kelly Rizzo. The threat of the Mind Flayer seemed to inspire his bravery, as Saget tells it:
It looks like Stranger Things ended up inspiring Bob Saget's decision to pop the question. Unfortunately, the acclaimed drama may have negatively affected his delivery, which he had to rectify before getting the positive answer to his proposal. I can't say I blame Kelly Rizzo on that one.
Bob Saget's comments come from his most recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and reveal that even he and fiancee Kelly Rizzo are drinking the Stranger Things kool-aid. Celebrities: they binge watch just like us.
News of Bob Saget's engagement came this past November, with the internet quickly breaking after hearing news that Danny Tanner was finally going to tie the knot IRL. The 61 year old comedian and actor was previously married to Sherri Kramer, with the two marrying after beginning as childhood sweethearts. Since his divorce Saget has been a bachelor, although he and Full House co-star John Stamos have recently gotten engaged to their respective partners.
Since Bob Saget has a relationship with Netflix through his role in Fuller House, it's not out of the realm of possibility for him to meet the Stranger Things cast and thank them in person. That cast recently made deals for more money in the show's third season, as the show continues to become more popular. In fact, Saget might not be the first person to get engaged while watching the adventures in Hawkins, Indiana; he might just be the most famous person to do so.
It should be interesting to see if Bob Saget ends up being the latest comedian to get a stand up special at Netflix. The streaming service has become a hub for comedians, with major talent like Jerry Seinfeld, Sarah Silverman, and Dave Chapelle producing content.
You can catch Bob Saget in Fuller House or the first two season of Stranger Things on Netflix. In the meantime, check out our midseason premiere list to plan your next binge watch. Plus our Amazon premiere list and superhero premiere list to ensure you don't miss a single episode.
