Jersey Shore's Sammi Sweetheart Revealed Why She Didn't Return For MTV's Revival
While it seems like just yesterday, it has been six whole years since Jersey Shore ended its three-year, six-season run on MTV. Like many bygone series, the show is getting a new lease on life with an MTV revival, entitled Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Before you start lifting your fists for some pumping, take some time to note the revival will be a little less sweet without Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola. The former star initially kept quiet about not reteaming with the other O.G. housemates, but now she has officially opened up about staying out.
With just days left before the revival premieres on MTV, the former reality star shared her reasons for skipping the revival on her Instagram page. While the decision may be disappointing for Jersey Shore fans, it sounds like Sammi Sweetheart is making the best choice for her. Since leaving the shore, Sammi has kept a rather low profile, although she regularly posts on social media to update fans on her latest goings-on.
You can check out the full post below, which added some visual appeal to her explanation and also contained an additional message to her biggest fans.
Jersey Shore: Family Vacation will move the drunken hijinks to Miami, Florida when the new series premieres on MTV on April 5. A second season has already been given the go-ahead by the network before it even airs. While Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola will not be present, the sweeter news is that most of the original cast will be, such as the infamously nicknamed Snooki, JWOWW, The Situation, and Pauly D will be among those returning for the revival, as will Ronnie and Vinny.
While it may sound like everyone but Sammi is back, Jersey Shore aficionados will notice another name is missing. Original cast member, Angelina Pivarnick, who starred in the first two seasons will not be a part of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. Her Season 3 replacement, Deena Nicole Cortese, is back for more clubbing. While the shore will be down two original cast mates, the party must go on.
Find out what Sammi-less shenanigans the cast gets up to when Jersey Shore: Family Vacation premieres on MTV on Thursday, April 5, at 8 p.m. ET. To see what other new and returning shows are on the way, head to our midseason premiere schedule and our summer premiere schedule.
