24: Live Another Day Gives Us A Look Behind The Scenes With New Videos And Special
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. There are less than three weeks until Fox fully resurrects Jack Bauer for the limited series 24: Live Another Day, and the network has been busy making sure everyone and their mother’s Congressmen knows about it. For those in deep Black Ops who aren’t yet familiar with Jack’s highly anticipated return, the behind the scenes video above should serve a solid re-entry point for his current mission, which is of course more important and more dangerous than anything he’s ever been through. Because Jack is back, baby! It’s a wonder Nick Fury didn’t invite him to be an Avenger.
24: Live Another Day: Jack is Back is actually the multi-coloned title of Fox’s upcoming half-hour long BTS special, which they will air on Saturday, May 3. The video above is presumably the first section of the special, and you can find the following three segments on Fox’s website. It’s kind of strange that they’re airing footage that can already be seen online, but I guess that’s why the special is debuting in the dead air of Saturday night TV.
In the special, executive producers and writers Evan Katz and Manny Coto are our guides through the plot descriptions and shooting process, with tons of footage filling in the blanks. Stars Kiefer Sutherland and Chloe O’Brien -- er, Mary Lynn Rajskub -- talk about reprising their characters after four years of being away from our eye sockets. You’ll also see other returning faces – like William Devane as now-President James Heller and Kim Raver as his daughter Audrey Raines, Jack’s former lover – along with 24 newbies Benjamin Bratt (Snitch), Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter), Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Wire) and Tate Donovan (Argo).
In 24: Live Another Day, President Heller is visiting London to discuss a drone treaty, when he inevitably becomes the target of an international terrorist. The thing is, everybody in the U.S. starts to assume that terrorist is Jack, who resurfaces in London after years of being off the grid. Bratt plays the head of the CIA operation meant to track Jack down, while Strahovski plays a CIA operative that Jack develops some kind of a relationship with. Donovan is Mark Boudreau, the White House Chief of Staff and Aubrey’s husband. Hell, even the genius British comedian Stephen Fry has a guest role as British Prime Minister Alastair Davies.
Catch all the high octane thrills and President-saving action when 24: Live Another Day premieres on Monday, May 5, with a special two-hour event. And remember, if you don’t enjoy the extended preview below, then the terrorists have already won.
