Marvel's Cloak And Dagger Revealed More Comic Characters Coming To The TV Show
Marvel's Cloak and Dagger is headed to Freeform, and apparently, the two heroes featured in the show's title won't be the only familiar faces that Marvel Comics fans will recognize. Two of the show's previously announced cast members, Jaime Zevallos and Emma Lahana, have finally had their roles revealed, and both are characters people who know the central duo would certainly recognize. Lahana will play Detective Brigid O'Reilly, while Zevallos will play the role of Father Delgado. Get your first look at Brigid below.
Father Delgado's inclusion in Freeform's Cloak and Dagger is nice to see, and we'll get to it soon, but fans are probably more stoked for Emma Lahana's Detective Brigid O'Reilly. Showcasing the stereotypical "good cop living in a superhero-infested city" attitude, Brigid will be torn by whether to consider the city's two teenage heroes as menaces or saviors for the streets she's working to protect. Though Brigid will have a rocky start with Tandy and Tyrone, the comics show that sooner than later, the trio come to an understanding of sorts, so hopefully they'll be on the same page on the TV show before too long.
Of course, there's a much bigger reason superhero fans will be stoked to see Brigid O'Reilly in the Freeform series, as she eventually turns into the Marvel vigilante Mayhem. No one in the Cloak and Dagger camp has actually confirmed Emma Lahana's Brigid O'Reilly will go that route, according to EW, but the fact the show happened to cast the former yellow ranger from Power Rangers DinoThunder could point to the actress being asked to do quite a few action scenes. I'm hopeful.
Meanwhile, Jaime Zevallos' Father Delgado is a school counselor and priest in the world of Cloak and Dagger, although his character description hints that he regrets taking on the latter of his two jobs. In the show, Delgado will be seeking redemption despite the fact that he's not all that sure he really deserves it.
Based off what is known about the Father Delgado of the comics, he will be of use to Cloak and Dagger for dependable food and shelter and general empathy. EW revealed Delgado will be a rock for Tyrone in particular, so one might expect the two characters will share quite a bit of screen time.
Fans will get to see exactly how each new character fits into the series when Cloak and Dagger makes its premiere on Freeform on Thursday, June 7, at 8 p.m. ET.
