Lethal Weapon's Clayne Crawford Goofily Responded To Potentially Being Recast

Lethal Weapon just ended its second season with a huge cliffhanger, but the finale cliffhanger isn't all that has people talking. Star Clayne Crawford is rumored to be leaving the show, meaning that his character will likely either be recast or killed off. Early reports indicated that Fox was interesting in recasting him for a potential third season, and Clayne Crawford had a surprisingly goofy response to the reports that he would soon be out of his high-profile primetime gig. Take a look at his post on Twitter:

Whatever Clayne Crawford's faults may be, let it not be said that he's guilty of overwhelming vanity! That photo posted on his Twitter isn't the most flattering ever snapped of him. His eyes aren't even open! That said, the goofiness of the picture goes perfectly with his "Hmmmmmm?" caption. Unlike his previous social media post addressing his potential firing from the show, Crawford went for more of a joke than an explanation. Perhaps he gets the feeling that whatever happens is out of his hands at this point, and he may as well post a silly pic.

Clayne Crawford did have a bit more to say in his followup tweet, which he posted less than 10 minutes after sharing the photo:

Well, that's one way to argue against losing a job! According to Clayne Crawford, it just wouldn't be right for Fox to give him the axe during his day off. It couldn't have been fun to see rumors circulating when he didn't have work to distract him, so maybe we should credit him for keeping a sense of humor. Anger or bitterness online wouldn't have done him any favors, and at least it was a way of addressing all the buzz.

In case you're not up on what caused all this buzz, here's what's happening. Back on April 23, reports surfaced that alleged Clayne Crawford engaged in misconduct on the set of Lethal Weapon that led to disciplinary action and other actors feeling uncomfortable working with him. A recast was reportedly already being considered at that point, and his exit was all but confirmed earlier this week. In fact, it's possible that the fate of Lethal Weapon depends on who the show can find to replace Crawford. Season 3 may not happen if there's no good way to substitute for Crawford's absence.

We'll have to wait and see what happens next. Hopefully news of Lethal Weapon's future will be released sooner rather than later, whether Clayne Crawford is involved or not.
