Tangled: The Series Renewed For Season 3
Tangled: The Series gained a lot of fans in its inaugural season, as the television series that continued the events of the Disney film was a hit for Disney Channel. It appears decision makers at the network believe that will continue to be the case going forward, as the animated series has been renewed for Season 3 weeks ahead of the start of Season 2. With the series all-star cast and success so far, it's looking possible this show's run could go just as long as Rapunzel's hair at its longest!
The news of Tangled: The Series' renewal comes weeks ahead of the Sunday, June 24 premiere of Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, which will be the show's title for Season 2. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will return to voice Rapunzel and Eugene in Season 2, as their characters will make their way out of the kingdom to see where the "black rocks" lead. Moore and Levi aren't the only big names that will be around for Season 2, as the series guest star list includes Carol Kane, Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Strahovski, Bruce Campbell, Timothy Dalton and more.
Disney's decision to renew Tangled: The Series for Season 3 is a sound one, as the series was the number one animated series on cable for girls 9-14, and reached 40 million total viewers in Season 1. Disney, of course, will be celebrating the new Season with a fresh line of Tangled products which are all due to hit store shelves beginning Monday, June 11. Disney's branding and merchandise surrounding Tangled: The Series would appear to indicate it's hoping the series sticks around for a long time, and its latest renewal is a good sign that may just happen.
Tangled: The Series renewal for Season 3 happened much like the show's renewal for Season 2. Disney Channel announced the series had been granted a new season even before the Tangled spinoff film, Tangled: Before Ever After, had premiered. The show features a lot of similarities to the original film beyond having Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi on board, such as score composer Alan Menkin. Disney did not indicate whether or not all the cast from Season 2 would be reprising their roles for Season 3, although we have little reason to suspect otherwise.
As mentioned, Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure will premiere on Disney Channel Sunday, June 24 at 8:00 a.m. ET.
