Game Of Thrones' Jason Momoa And Emilia Clarke Reunited, And It Was Wonderful
Khal Drogo was a key figure in the first season of Game of Thrones, and Dany wouldn't have become the queen/khaleesi that she is as of the end of Season 7 without her time at Drogo's side. His death means that Drogo hasn't appeared on the series aside from a hallucination of Dany's in The House of the Undying, but actor Jason Momoa remains a fan of Game of Thrones and invested in the Dothraki story. He recently showed up at the Game of Thrones cast party to reunite with former on-screen wife Emilia Clarke, and they posed for a pic that is absolutely wonderful. Take a look:
According to Emilia Clarke's caption on her Instagram photo, she and Jason Momoa decided to go for a Dirty Dancing lift while Momoa was perched on a version of the Iron Throne. Alcohol apparently played a part in giving Clarke the nerve to try this move, although Jason Momoa is probably one of the safest men in the world to try it with. The man can fling axes across a room while holding a glass of Guinness and clearly has a lot in the way of upper body strength; if you're going to let somebody hoist you around, Momoa is probably the guy for the job.
Of course, the move captured on camera in this pic isn't exactly a recreation of the iconic Dirty Dancing pose that had Jennifer Grey held aloft by Patrick Swayze, although the inebriated Emilia Clarke evidently didn't know that she wasn't being held over Jason Momoa's head. No, this wasn't Johnny and Baby bringing down the house or even practicing their lift in a lake, but it's probably the closest we'll ever get to a Dirty Dancing/Game of Thrones crossover. What's not to love about a picture that prompts the hashtag of #nooneputsdrogointhecorner?
Unfortunately for fans who have been crossing their fingers that Jason Momoa's presence with members of the Game of Thrones team means Drogo will be back in Season 8, it turns out that Momoa was simply partying it up with his former co-stars to say goodbye to the series. It's not a huge surprise that Drogo seemingly won't be resurrected for the final season considering some of Momoa's previous comments, but fans could always hope. That said, there are still months and months until the show is back on the airwaves at some point in 2019. Fans can wonder and speculate and hypothesize about a Drogo comeback all they want, if that's what it takes to pass the time!
Fans should definitely not count on any major spoilers leaking before HBO decides the time is right. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister, revealed a crazy way the show is working to keep its scripts secret, and we can bet that HBO learned some lessons from all the leaks during Season 7. We'll have to wait and see what happens next.
