Watch An Elderly Couple Dirty Dance And Wow America's Got Talent Judges
There's never any saying what kind of acts will hit the stage on America's Got Talent, and the latest episode featured everything from an 11-year-old doing some killer animal impressions to two shirtless guys making strange sounds with their stomachs to a showstopping song number from a father of 6. The most memorable performance, however, may be the dance number courtesy of two elderly performers who were anything but shy on the dance floor. Check out this married couple getting down and dirty, regardless of their age!
America's Got Talent is a family show no longer! Celina and Filiberto are a married couple from Cuba who made it to America's Got Talent to perform, and their dance was just about the opposite of what any viewers probably expected. Filiberto's expression of tearful joy and Celina's dazzlement gave the impression that these were two older people, unprepared for but excited by the glitz and glamor that would showcase their lovely slow dance. Instead, they got busy to the tunes of "Talk Dirty To Me," and it was enough to delight judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum. Mel B. was wowed as well as the other three, although not in quite as positive a way.
For Mel B., an elderly duo dirty dancing to a song like "Talk Dirty To Me" is clearly not something that she wanted to see on America's Got Talent. Given that she has sat through some other wild performances without cringing, Celina and Filiberto's dance must have struck a chord with her. It's understandable why she might have been uncomfortable; Celina and Filiberto aren't exactly in the age demographic many of us would expect to even know "Talk Dirty To Me," let alone have a dance number choreographed to it.
Mel B.'s distaste for the dancing wasn't enough to knock Celina and Filiberto out of the competition. Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum all voted for them to move on to the next stage of the competition, so Mel will have to sit through at least one more performance. I'm guessing it will definitely make it to the airwaves rather than getting cut for time. Celina and Filiberto may go down as two of the most memorable performers of Season 13, although it's too soon to say for sure. This was only the second episode of the season. Two golden buzzers have already been slammed, and the competition continues to heat up. Who knows what could happen next?
To see what's in store for the next batch of competitors, tune in to America's Got Talent on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. For some other viewing options, be sure to take a look at our summer TV premiere schedule and our 2018 Netflix premiere guide.
