Watch America's Got Talents' Human Fountains Break Simon Cowell With Super Gross Hot Dog Stunt
Season 13 of America's Got Talent is finally in the quarterfinals stage, and the first live show brought 12 mind-blowing acts to the stage to try and wow the audiences and stick around through the next round of competition. Some of the acts were mind-blowing in the best way, with the Angel City Chorale embracing The Greatest Showman with a show-stopping performance and Shin Lim confounding the judges all over again with his magic act. The Human Fountains were back as well, and they blew Simon's mind in a way that he clearly doesn't want to repeat. The synchronized spitting men incorporated a hot dog and a bunch of fixin's into their act, and it was super gross. Take a look!
Simon Cowell and the other judges thought they were done with the Human Fountains after the spitters got the axe in the previous round of America's Got Talent competition. The five men with one of the most bizarre acts in America's Got Talent history were brought back thanks to the wildcard spot, and they found themselves competing with 11 other acts that were sent through with a combination of golden buzzers and judges' approval. Basically, Simon and Co. were never going to be on the edges of their seats in excitement for whatever new substances the guys would spit into each other's mouths. Still, the hot dog trick was icky enough that you can pretty much see the moment that Simon Cowell broke.
Good old Simon held on like a champ even beyond when Mel B. had to turn away in disgust that we have to hope isn't so severe that she'll decide not to return to America's Got Talent. He didn't even break when the one guy produced a cooked hot dog from his mouth, which is the moment that broke me. Even the projectile spitting of ketchup and mustard didn't get to him too badly. When the last of the five men proudly brandished the hot dog and then happily chowed down on it, Simon snapped and hit the red X. Never have I so strongly related to a person on a reality competition show.
Mel and Simon don't always agree, but they were on the same page with the Human Fountains. Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel hung on and seemed entertained even once the condiments came out, and even I'll admit that the champagne cork part of the act was clever. Still, I don't think any of the judges were regretting their initial decision to send the Human Fountains home, and Tyra Banks strutted onto the stage after the act was over to assure everybody that the stage smelled as bad as everybody must have imagined.
Since America's Got Talent is currently in the live shows portion of the season, the judges don't actually have final say on whether or not the Human Fountains advance one stage closer to winning the top prize of a million dollars. That decision is in the hands of viewers. You can vote for the Human Fountains or others of the 11 acts from the August 14 episode on the official America's Got Talent app, on the official website, via toll-free call at 1-866-602-48XX (with the last two digits as the performance order number), and the Xfinity X1 remote.
