Ryan Gosling Recalls Working With Britney Spears On The Mickey Mouse Club
The Mickey Mouse Club was a TV staple for many, but it may be best remembered nowadays for featuring a number of kids who would go on to become huge stars in showbiz. Two of those talented youngsters on the show at the same time were Ryan Gosling and Britney Spears. The two recently reunited at a taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which had Gosling thinking back to their days working together as Mouseketeers. He had this to say about reuniting with Spears:
It should come as no surprise that Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera blew Ryan Gosling away with their talent back in their Mickey Mouse Club days. Both young girls grew up to become powerhouse singers with massive fanbases and plenty of awards to their names.
In fact, the Mickey Mouse Club lineup during Ryan Gosling's time included other such future stars as Justin Timberlake, Keri Russell, and J.C. Chasez, who would totally be down for a reunion. It probably did not come as a huge shock to Gosling when Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera hit it big on the music scene.
Fortunately for Ryan Gosling, powerhouse singing voices weren't a prerequisite for The Mickey Mouse Club, so he found his place among the other kids on the show. Sure, he would go on to star in a hit musical with Emma Stone, but he was no Britney Spears in La La Land. Interestingly, despite his big break coming on a lighthearted show, Gosling grew up to be better known for his dramatic and/or romantic roles. Hey, to each their own! All the Mouseketeers had their own strengths.
After Ryan Gosling revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera blew him away when they performed to their Mickey Mouse Club castmates, the question became what he did when his turn came. Here's what he said:
Ryan Gosling may not be able to belt like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, but he sure is... Canadian! What's not to love about that? He clearly made a good enough impression on everybody -- including viewers -- that he built a long future for himself in showbiz. Something tells me Mickey Mouse Club-era Gosling didn't see himself landing Oscar nominations in a couple decades!
Ellen DeGeneres seized the chance to snap a pic of the two former Mickey Mouse Club stars when they appeared on her show. Take a look!
