Jersey Shore Family Vacation has resurrected the fame of all of its former cast members, save one. Despite the show's massive success, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola has not agreed to return to the revival series and join her former friends on their increasingly wild vacations. That said, we're wondering and excited to see if that stance will change in future episodes, since Sammi was spotted with the rest of the women from the show in a picture at Deena's baby shower.
Sammi's appearance at Deena's baby shower is very interesting, to say the least. Not in the sense that she attended, of course, as Deena and other members of the cast have been open about their friendship with her. What is interesting is that she'd attend an event that Jersey Shore Family Vacation was most likely filming, which means she could appear on camera in a future episode.
Granted, we don't know if camera crews were on site and filming Deena's baby shower. We do know, however, that cameras were rolling for Jersey Shore Family Vacation at The Situation's wedding a few days prior to this. The fact that filming is still happening for the show, in addition to the fact that the show filmed Deena's gender reveal party, suggests footage for a future episode may have been shot at the baby shower.
If there was filming taking place, one would think Jersey Shore Family Vacation asked Sammi Giancola for permission to show her. Whether or not she would agree to it is another story, as Sammi has done a pretty solid job distancing herself from the revival thus far. That said, there's been confirmation from the show's cast that Sammi watched Season 1 of Jersey Shore Family Vacation, so maybe she finally decided she wanted to be in on the fun.
With The Situation set to begin his prison sentence in the near future, Sammi Sweetheart would be the perfect stand-in for the cast member until he returns. Of course, it's been common knowledge she wasn't interested in returning, most likely because ex-boyfriend Ronnie Ortiz-Magro is still around. Given all the drama Ronnie's had lately with his baby mama, Jen Harley, few would think she'd be interested in adding fuel to that fire with her presence.
That's assuming Ronnie would be up for a return in future episodes, as recent comments by Jen Harley indicated that may not happen. Harley recently made it known she blamed Jersey Shore Family Vacation for a majority of her relationship problems, and confirmed that she believed things would be fine between them if Ronnie quit the show. Ronnie's exit could be enough to get Sammi to agree to return, provided that's the only thing holding her back.
