Teen Mom OG Stars Catelynn And Tyler Broke Up After Revealing Pregnancy
Two of Teen Mom OG's biggest stars announced they were taking a break not long after it was revealed they'd be having another child. Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra, who have been a part of the program since the inaugural season of Teen Mom, announced that they would be living apart for a while to continue working on their marriage.
The news isn't the best post-baby announcement follow up, but for those that missed the episode of Teen Mom OG, it may sound worse than it is. While the married couple living separately doesn't sound great, the two are actually using it as an exercise to help better cope with their recent marital troubles. The idea was first suggested by Tyler, who asked they live apart for a month following a couple's therapy retreat they attended in Sedona.
ET reported the Catelynn was eventually receptive to the news, but that she feared that Tyler had an ulterior motive for his suggestion. The soon-to-be mother of two opened up to a Teen Mom OG producer and said she began to think he may be seeing someone else.
While the two agreed to spend time apart, Catelynn clarified that they have not discussed getting a divorce. They also won't be seeing other people during the break as well, and simply spending some time separately to better explore themselves. The reasoning behind the split is sound, as the two have been a part of the MTV family since Season 1 of 16 and Pregnant in 2009.
The decision is not a total surprise, as Catelynn and Tyler's relationship has had its fair share of troubles in the past. The two have been through a lot since 16 and Pregnant, as infidelity and a broken proposal preceded their eventual marriage in 2015. The two hit another rough patch in the past year, and fans had begun to suspect the couple could be calling it quits when Catelynn changed her last name on social media.
Whether this is the end of Tyler and Catelynn's relationship remains to be seen, but Teen Mom OG will likely continue to follow the situation on MTV Mondays at 9:00 p.m. ET.
